Two issues of concern

I have the 2011 Overland with all the fix’ens (ACC, FCW, Chrome edition, 5.7, off road package) and have noticed two issues that are really starting to bug me. I was wondering if anyone else is noting these issues.

Issue 1
I have noticed that the steering column has a clunking sound while breaking. It happens almost every time. It is not a big clunk and feels like you have slack in the push/pull and it is pushing to the end.

Issue 2
When the truck gets up to around 50 mph I notice what feels like a shimmy or like the front is out of balance. I have had the tires checked and all are balanced. It stops when I get up to around 75 or 80 mph.

I do plan to take it to the dealer this week if they can get me in but I did want to go in to the dealer informed. The local dealer is not the dealer that I purchased the vehicle through so I feel bad about taking it to them but I think I need to.

Does anyone have any information about either one of these issues? Thanks in advance.

For #1 check out :

For #2: could it be the shudder issue the hemi's are having??

Re: Two issues of concern

Nothing to add for the first issue but the second is a bad (out of round) tire. I had the same thing with the 20" Goodyears. When I switched to the Michelin's all the vibration went away. A decent tire shop should be able to identify which tire us to blame.

I will agree that it sounds like a tire or wheel problem on your 2nd problem.

Also, don't feel bad at all about taking it to a dealer that you didn't buy it from. All dealers make money off of warranty work. The front sales staff might wish you had bought from them but to the service area you are just another customer who will make them money.
