Wooden gear knob?

I came accross a brochure of WK2 and saw a pic with wooden gear knob with Jeep logo on it.

Has any of you seen wooden gear knob for WK2 from Mopar?

Re: Wooden gear knob?

It was a pre-production item that was cut. IIRC, it may reappear as a Mopar accessory, but I've not seen anything about it being made and available for sale. It could also be gone forever.

Thanks for the info. Too bad it couldn't make it. It looks very nice though...

The less wood, the better....unless it is Black Olive Burl! LOL

Have your favorite wood guy custom make one for you out of your favorite wood. Pricier than something off the shelf, but certainly doable.

I noticed they dropped the wood from an earlier picture as well, and wouldnprefer the wood. You could always try this :

However the original wood knob seen in the Jeep photos looks better (to me), so I'm gonna wait for Mopar

You notice that the black olive burl is described as "black olive ash applique"? (on the right side of the sticker a few rows down)

Re: Wooden gear knob?

I already asked my wood guy to make one for me. I removed original gear shift knob and it has two parts that can be separated of each other, one of them should be covered by veneer (medium olive ash burl), originally it's covered by leather, he take it off and he said that he can cover this part by veneer, he should just find right veneer for it. I'll post pictures when he finished it.

I can make just about anything out of wood. Someone give me some pictures to see what you're talking about.

And if I can't make it by hand, My CNC can! ;)

----applique just means wood decorative ornaments....as in wood trim....right??? That doesn't mean veneer per se.
