Why would my engin light be on?
 
Idea? Brainstorm please??

It was due of a service at 95k km's, its now about about to clock over 100k km's. Slack i know just havent had time to get parts or Luke been home to service it.

Ive put oil in & its still not happy.

I wanna drive my car dam it!!! :(:slapfight:

5,000 miles past service date?

Kilometers past. Ive got no idea, i havent looked at the logbook.

Go get the code read somwhere, as it is free service at most all Auto parts stores. If the check engine light is on solid and not flashing, you can drive it with no problem. If it is flashing there is a serious issue.

Its solid, only a dealership here will read a code.

I drove the kids 15km's to day care & home, no problems.

I've had that darn light come on once because of the fuel filler cap not being closed properly and another time because I didn't use it for a month. Supposedly the gas got stale...

its usually some sort of emissions or fault with that light....use the key dance methos to pull the code like suggested and we can go from there. Dont go to a dealer yet.

Code was po406, something about the exhaust sensor thingy. $40 for a new part for US.

p0406 is your egr valve... SUPER common.
