Good Deal? Demo Laredo w/ 5700 miles

Hello everyone,

I really need your help in determining if the "vip internet price" from a dealership in my area is fair. Recently I found a Black 4x4 Laredo with the off-road adventure I, Security and Convenience, and Towing package for $31,795 plus taxes, title, and fees. Since the MSRP for this vehicle is $35,885 and edmunds places the invoice price at $33,658 I felt this was a great deal. However, after a few rounds of emailing with the Internet Manger I inquired about the current mileage. She quickly replied by apologising and saying that the vehicle is actually an untitled demo driven by the Service Manager with 5700 miles, but that they would cover the extra mileage in the terms of the warranty. I then requested a carfax report and it indicates that the vehicle is at least 10 months old.
Sorry for the long winded post and thank you if you are still reading, but is this still a good deal? Would I be unjustified in asking for an even lower price like $28,000 plus taxes, title, and fees?

Thank you again for helping me out.

Is this the option package and color that you want?

I would say if the vehicle is very clean (just as much as a new one) and they are going to start the warranty from now it seems decent. I would be as anal as possible checking ever nook and cranny and listening to every little noise going down the road. You never know what the "demo driver" has put it through...but then again the Jeep should take all its been through and ask for more!

I would probably offer less but my guess is that the dealer would decline because someone out there WILL buy it for that price.

If you did want to go for this one, you could also ask them to throw in some extras (lug locks, slush mats, cargo mat...)

I'd tell them to throw in some Limited wheels.

I wouldn't pay anymore than $28 To me that's a used car, 6000 miles, cripes! I could have driven that to the west coast and back with some extra driving for sightseeing.:slapfight:
Look elsewhere....You should easily be able to get one new for $32 if you do your homework.

If it's the WK2 you been wanting as for as package, color, etc........Limited wheels and a few other things thrown in for free and deal.

Or drop the price a bit more and then try Limited wheels and deal. Lol.

Not a good deal. When I was shopping, I was looking at a Laredo, V6, OR-1 and trailer package that was going for ~$32,000 (before TTL) after all discounts were applied. If it has NOT been titled, then you are still technically buying a "new" vehicle but I would say $28,000 is closer to reality. Then again, if there is market demand they will get the price from whomever will pay. Perhaps if they include a lifetime max-care zero-deduction Chrysler warranty all for $31,000, then if you like the vehicle that much I'd say go for it.

5k demo miles... I'd rather pay more and get a WK2 with 15k miles from a single owner than a vehicle that was probably treated like a rental all it's life.

If it's ten months old, it was one of the first ones built. That alone would make me pass on it even if it had no mileage.

I had a similar offer, however i decided to not take it, I found the vehicle online went into the dealer only to find out it had 3500 miles on it, and the service manager was driving it. They told me after they have 6,000 miles on it they can no longer sell it as a new vehicle (I'm not sure how true it is). But if you ask me regaurdless whether its been registered or not its used with that kind of miles on it. You can spend a little more which equals out to a small amount every month and have a brand new jeep.

Indeed pass on it. For a little more money you can get a brand new one!

Paying that kind of money for something that was driven by someone else...no thanks!
