Power Steering Pump replaced but low coolant warning followed

On Wednesday I had my power steering pump and pully replaced as it was leaking.Got home from work and went to get in it and the overhead was chiming low coolant.Figured maybe the mechanic had disconnected something and forgot to top off the fluid but I didn't really know as I am clueless about what is involved in replacing the pump.Took it 1st thing Thursday to have him check and he took the radiator cap off and showed me that it was full.Damn overhead has been flashing low coolant since. Its running great,no issues with temp. or smells or smoke,no visible leaks. Before I call my mechanic and complain does anyone have a idea as to what could be wrong? Thanks for reading

The low coolant message comes from a sensor in the expansion reservoir, not from the level in the radiator. Its probably a coincidence that it popped up now, because should have nothing to do with the power steering pump replacement. Have a look if you see any leakage and top up the reservoir.

Thanks for responding Frango.I don't see any leaks either. The resorvoir has some fluid in it but it is so clear that my eyes cant tell if its under where it is labeled Full or not.Gonna look tomorrow in better light but as long as their is some in there should I be getting the warning? Thanks

Donīt know the exact point the warning is presented, but or the level is too low, or the warning switch/circuit has a problem.

Ok thanks again. Going to top off if needed tomorrow and than if that doesn't fix it it's back to the mechanic on tuesday. The chimes are getting annoying

I think to get rid of the warning, you could just disconnect the connector on the level switch, for now. The level switch is on top of the expansion reservoir, just besides the fill cap of the reservoir.
