Eliminating mini-cats on 2004 4.0

I would like to see if I can elminate the mini-catalytic converers on my 2004 Rocky Mountain Edition WJ. Has anybody does this and if so - can you still pass emissions with the single converter. I am thinking about installing a Magnaflow unit if I can figure out how to eliminate the mini-cats.

Thanks for any insights that you can provide.

Nobody else has replied yet...but your tagline is great! The Liberty is the transsexual of the Jeep world! I agree! The only thing worse would to be caught drivng a Kia...or maybe a Subaru!

Thanks haha, it appears though that we may have to just find out ourselves about these mini-cats though.

Well if you remove them you'll get a Check engine light (probably p0420) for the cats being toast. My solution for you for that is a spark plug non fouler as seen here, $5 and it'll save you a lot of headache + keep you "emissions legal" as most places scan the OBD2 port when they check your vehicle over.
