Hello There.. I have a 2011 Grand Cherokee Limited and my problem is that the fuel door stuck or something i cant open it and was wondering if there is a way i can do that manually instead of using the button under the steering wheel? cuz when i press it i only here the unlocking sound but it stays locked :(

and my car is out of fuel :( #crying

Re: Fuel door doesnt open

try pressing the button and have someone else try to open the door, if it works, fill up and take it to the dealer

There is a manual release in the cargo area. Left side storage area.

To manually open the fuel door,
remove the storage bin and pull the
release cable located in the rear
cargo area.

It's finally happened...our cars are going on strike against the fuel cost increases.

Re: Fuel door doesnt open

Try lightly pushing it when the button is pushed, if that does not work try a small flat screwdriver covered in a rag to gentley pry it

Do you know anyone with a bit more mechanical aptitude than you seem to have, it shouldn't be that difficult to open a fuel door. It doesn't sound like the internet is going to solve your issue.......

The sales man told me you have to wait for a week until they can deliver the car because it just arrived to Kuwait and no one knows anything about it but I spoke to someone in management to deliver it the next day and it was the first 2011 grand cherokee on Kuwait's streets.. but I had to wait another week for the manuals, floor mats, ipod cable, and the dvd headphones because they didnt get them yet the from the states

Thats not an issue for our cars here in Kuwait :p
Liter is 0.09 Kuwaiti Dinars = 0.326 USD
a gallon would be around $1.2

Where exactly is this release cable for the door? I've had the car apart doing audio and don't recall seeing it...
