Rim Covers

I was thinking about removing the plastic Rim covers on my 05 Jeep, but have no clue what the rims look like w/o them. Havent found a good pic either. Anyone have a pic or advice on whether to leave them on or take them off? I know new rims are better....

Thanks Scott, looks like Ill be leaving them on....

Svenska,

To be honest if there are "good" hub caps these are. They look like chrome rims...I think all the loredos have them

Re: Rim Covers

He isn't talking about hubcaps. My guess is he has the chrome-clad limited wheels. He wants to take the chrome cladding off but it is bonded to an unfinished aluminum wheel. It's next to impossible to get the cladding off in the first place and underneath is a nasty looking unfinished rim.

Edit: guess he just has the regular silver laredo wheels.

Re: Rim Covers

you can buy aftermarket chrome wheel skins on ebay...it could be those. They just snap on and off

Many of the laredos came with the chrome hubcaps over the painted alloy wheels. Mine just popped off like a regular hubcap being careful with a screwdriver. You'll be able to tell pretty easy if they are the hubcaps or the clad wheels.

Re: Rim Covers

I did some research and they are the wheel skins...from what I read the stock alloy rims are fairly dull so i will just keep them on. Thanks guys
