Fob Protector

So I walked out of the house this AM to find the Jeep already started and ready to go...

Any new key fob protector ideas? Apparently a cell phone and key fob in the same pocket... well...

I know this was discussed many times, but I don't recall the conclusion.

I also bought two of those, but I don't much like them. As the ad says, the photos are retouched to add white icons over the buttons. On the actual jackets, all you get is a slightly raised pattern in the plastic. That's not enough for me to see the icon, so I can't tell which button does what. I once started the car when trying to open the lift gate.

i hardly ever use the FOB to unlock doors or open the liftgate so I don't mind them. But I do see your point.

the conclusion was to not wear skinny jeans so the fob is tight in your pocket and the buttons are being pressed. :)

I can honestly say I have never had my car start, unlock, roll the windows down, etc... when I have the key in my pocket. What the hell are you guys doing to cause this? :) Are you practicing drums on your legs with the fob in there? Do you slam your legs off of walls or other objects to hit the buttons by accident? :D

I consistently hit buttons;l start my jeep, opened the tailgate once, usually just lock/unlock and my jeans aren't tight, its usually if I put them in the same pocket as cell phone however even by themselves sometimes..

I'll have to agree, prior to owning this Jeep I've never had issue with keeping the key fob in my pocket and nothing happening, but other day was at Chiropractor with key fob in my pocket, sweat pants pocket / loose fitting at that, and doctor comes saying do you have a Jeep? Alarm is going off, sure enough was my Jeep alarming from the key fob! :(

Twice, I have bumped my thigh on the edge of a kitchen cabinet and set off the panic alarm in the garage.

so it isn't a fob issue, it's a glasses/eyes/lasik issue then. :) :)

Suggestion to Jeep engineers: a very simple and small "lock-out" switch, such as on ipods and cell phones.
