Just a thought

Would it be possible to fit a 1500 ram hemi into a wk? Just a random thought after reading about engine swaps on the internet

the 5.7 hemi comes in the wk...so it would probably be easy or you could just buy a wk with a hemi

Re: Just a thought

I have researched the CRAP out of this subject for us 3.7L's.....

You need to have the NAG1 transmission. I happen to have it but most 3.7L's do not. If you were to have the NAG1 and were able to find a 5.7L Hemi out of a Jeep WK, you need your SPECIFIC year! and then after labor, and other parts, wire harness, PCM, exhaust, new fans.....

~$5-6K after labor. and time.. Better off selling yours, and buying a WK with the Hemi inside.

I wanted to do this to mine, but its not realistic, and wouldnt be worth crud in retail since the VIN says it is supposed to be a 3.7L V6

this isnt gosple for every year and trim level but the 5.7l uses the 545rfe trans... the 6.1 and the 3.7l use the nag.

From what I was told by a shop that specificaly does Hemi swaps, 5.7L uses the NAG.. Or it would atleast bolt up. Its a mercedes trans

A distant plan of mine is to put a used 6.1 in mine. That's long distance though but I'm going to do it.

The price won't be so bad. I'd rather do that then to have make payments on a 5.7

Ok well either that or a bike. Lol.

Re: Just a thought

The 5.7L hemi's use the 545-rfe but i bet the nag-1 would bolt up as well. You're then stuck with matching electronics though. You'd need regular WK 5.7L electronics for the 5.7L engine, and SRT8 electronics to run the tranny; and then some more electronics to let the 2 different systems communicate, if that's even possible. I say go with the bike ;)

Yeah, I'd rather have the bike.
