Experiences with odering 2012 using % ???
Has anyone negotiated using a % under Dealer Invoice and less rebates and promotions?
If so, how did it work out? What were the advantages and disadvantages?
There are a few dealers selling at $3,500 to $5,000 above list.
However, using Tread Lightly and other programs, it is easy to get 1% under Dealer Invoice.
This 1% of a $45,000 Jeep is about $450; lets round up to $500 for ease of calculations.
It appears Dealer Hold Back is just under 4%.
Plus there are other Dealer Incentives.
Some people have gotten 3 and 4 % under dealer invoice by also using other incentives.
Want to order a 2012 GC as soon as possible.
Order books open June 8, and production starts July 18. Firm pricing is expected just before July 18 (unless leaked earlier).
Later will order several Grand Cherokees and Rubicon Unlimiteds for work and fun.
Has anyone gone into a dealer and said something like, “Pricing is not firm yet, but will give you 4 % under your Invoice and less any rebates and incentives”? Start the negations there to order a new 2012 as soon as possible.
Ask several dealers and compare pricing.
At the end, might ask the dealer for some extras like locking lug nuts, rear cargo mat, etc.
Is this a good plan?
Has anyone tried something like this?
If so, what were the results? What did the advantages and disadvantages of the approach turn out to be.
Thanks for any info!

What's the hurry? Couldn't you place an order on July 18th when pricing is confirmed and still take delivery at the same date regardless if you had ordered earlier? I don't know the answer to your question though, sorry.

How can an individual order before prices are finalized? Presumably orders before that will be for dealer inventory, no?

Some dealers are accepting orders starting June 8.
However, they will not commit to a price. Hence, the thought about %.
Do not feel comfortable ordering without some type of firm price.
Wanted to put the Jeep to work, have it save time and enable more fun as soon as possible.
However, it appears we will have to wait longer.
