oil/filter change??

Today i did my first oil/filter change since i purchased my jeep a few months ago. I bought some castrol 5w 30 and a mopar filter.

Why is it that the filter I purchased, part # 05281090 does not fit my vehicle. I have the 3.7V6 and the filter was too wide to fit in the little holster nor did it want to screw in securely.

My question is has anyone had this problem when purchasing the mopar oil filter with the part # listed on wkjeeps site?

If it makes a difference I purchased the filter at a walmart and didnt notice the size of the previous filter vs the mopar one.

Luckily there is an Autozone nearly across the road from my house so i walked there to get a new filter and it fit (stp) without any issues.

I would run a Wix filter... Some times there are multiple revisions or maybe a typo.

Well for castrol I would run Castrol Edge... All in all my recommendation is Amsoil. Others on here run Mobile1, Royal Purple, Castrol, and a few others.
