How To: Take Apart Your HeadLights

Here is what I did and how I did it...You can obviously do it however you want as this is only how I did it and should be only used as a guide!

Tools Used:

Oven
Gloves
Hex ScewDriver
A Couple Different Sized FlatHead ScrewDrivers

Ok, Lets get started...

PreHeat the oven to about 230degrees.

Sit the headlight face down on some towels and newspapers.

Start with the HI.

Unscrew these 3 screws.

Remove this ring.

Pull off this rubber piece.

So now it should look like this.

Now repeat the same steps for the LOW.

It should look like this with both off.

Now put it in the oven at about 230degrees.

Leave it in for about 20min!

Use your FlatHead ScrewDriver started prying at the seal. Be careful here not to distort the plastic too much or break anything!

Once you have it separated a bit you can start pulling it apart as you break the seal more and more.

http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/4482/dsc03095h.jpg

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/8018/dsc03096t.jpg

And then you have the final product.

Just go slow and take your time and if need be put it back in the oven to heat up again!

Good Luck!

One thing. Before you put them back in the over do you have to put some sealant?

You going to do anything about those amber reflectors/blinkers? IMO I'd rather spray them red than amber...
