Cold air drivers side, warm air passenger side

I noticed yesterday in our 2006 WK Laredo that with the a/c on, cold air comes from the driver's side vents, but warm air comes from the passenger and rear vents (much to the dismay of the passengers). Since the Jeep does not have dual-zone climate control, any idea why this might be? On a possibly related note, I did drop the little cap in the center of the dash (where the auto-headlight sensor would go) down the passenger side defrost vent, but that was several months ago. There's a chance it could be blocking a passage or preventing a door from shutting or something. Any ideas?

I' ve read that the climate control unit itself goes the way of the Plymouth Horizon and doesn't control heat/a.c function. I've also read that there is a sensor that could be replaced that also controls heat/cool level......"i E" the temp markers actually mean something. On the old WJ's, that was a sure sign of blend doors.

None of the above - it was a little low on refrigerant.
