Water under the front passenger seat

Just bought a 2011 Grand Cherokee. Had a bit of rain during the day and the drive home. Noticed the sloshing sound we see folks talk about in other postings. From the ground, looked under the front passenger side and found four rubber plugs in the frame/floor. Pulled them loose and got 1 to 2 quarts of water to drain out. I pulled three similar plugs from under the front driver side and there was no water. I reinstalled all plugs but will talk to the dealer and keep and eye on it.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

I wonder if there were a few more plugs that were not installed at the factory. I might check the A/C evaporator drain tube...Maybe it's leaking into that area....

We're still in cold weather (Montana) climate and haven't turned on ac. Bought this 2011 GC yesterday have had it just 24 hrs. The dealer is 50 mi away and our salesman said he'll have service dept. call us on Tues. after Memorial break. My wife is ready to drive it back.:(

If you havent been using the A/c then it could be a sunroof drain.. If you open the sunroof you'll see there are four drains, one in each corner. Try to see if all four are draining properly or it eventually backs up by using a pitcher or a hose on low. My passenger front was clogged. Then a second time I had to go back and they resealed the battery box as the drains were working fine but I had water in there again a month or so later. Havent seen water since.

I've been having the same problem. The sloshing sound has increased over the past few weeks. It doesn't matter if the gas tank is full or near empty. It must be water. Did you find out how to remove water from the driver side?

Being I primarily drive on the highway and occasionally drive around a field to hunt/fish, I decided to leave that body plug out. Periodically, I inspect in the floorpan with a borescope and all looks just fine in there.

Wether or not that particular plug is supposed to be removed during PDI is a mystery.
