xoom mounted, idiot light on!
sorry fpr the lack of pics but my phone shit the bed and my camera is at work.

So, I purchased a ram mount for my xoom and did not want to mount it to the car seat. I wanted to mount it for rear seat viewing. So I bolted it to the floor behind the center console (where factory dvd would be). I could not see where I drilled through and everything was ok. Well I went out later and my ABS and rear traction lights are now on. I think I just drilled throught the floor, but now I am not sure.

pics to come

Re: xoom mounted, idiot light on!
ok, for those of you that have a double din/dvd/nav aftermarket reciever guess what you can do with the xoom. the xoom has a mini hdmi out that send a mirror image to the, or hdmi in. So what I did was purchase a hdmi to rca converter from ebay ($45), it is meant for home use but if you get yourself a 5v cig lighter power source you can splice in a working power source for your car.

what I did was tap into the constant power and added a hidden cig lighter behind the a/c panel, use that for power hid the converter in the radio bezel/ opern space above the glove box but not interfering with the pass air bag. then ran the hdmi to micro hdmi to my center console . no problems with the above steps. sorry for no pics of these steps but if you have questions, please feel free to ask.

now, I ordered a ram pass seat post xoom mount. what you are supposed to do is attach it to the inside front pass seat bolt, toward the front of the car. I did not want to take up pass side room. My chick would bitch every time it hit her leg, then it would lead to the "why can't you just leave cars alone".

So, I decided to mount it behind the center console, plus it now give my rear pass a view.

I mounted the stand through the floor.

So, I went for a test drive. everything was fine. then the idiots came on ABS and the tires skidding one. not to mention the air bag (waiting on the drivers tensioner/dealership ran diagnostic).

After reading the posts, I crawled under the jeep. thank the jeep gods for lifts with my fat a$$. I found the bolt, I will dremmel it down tomorrow but it is not hitting anything under the car. SO, WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT THERE IS SOMETHING UNDER THE CARPET AND ABOVE THE METAL FLOOR????

Re: xoom mounted, idiot light on!
pull the back of the console off and see if you can see wires headed from where you drilled.

Re: xoom mounted, idiot light on!
i agree thats a pretty sweet set up... you must have kids or something haha

can the people in the back control the xoom while its playing? For example...If you have some friends in the back who don't like the Britney Spears that you have playing ( ) , can they just change it from the xoom?
