Quick Fob Fix

I had some trouble with one of my fobs and I finally took it to the local dealer to get fixed. The guy at the dealership opened opened up the fob and under the battery there is little silver plate with 4 prongs on it. He used the edge of a key to gently pry the four prongs up so they would make better contact with the battery. He then put the battery back in and it started to work again. I have been driving the Jeep for a couple days now and the key is still working. He said that sometimes those prongs get pushed down when the buttons are pushed too hard. He called it a poor design and hoped that there would be a fix for it at some point. So if your key isn't working try this trick before resorting to the emergency key procedure. Not saying it will work 100% of the time but worth a shot for sure.

Also I get all my service done at Bettenhausen Chrysler Jeep in Orland Park, IL and I can't recommend the dealership enough. Just got an awesome oil change deal from them; Buy 1 for $39.99 get 3 free and it does not expire for 2 years!
