WK MPG with AC

Ok, so its been in the upper 90's here this week and I have been cranking the AC. The MPG is killing me.....Its reading like 10 mpg. Is this typical for the Cherokee's to lose that much from running the AC? I just filled up last Thursday and after 170 miles, I'm down to 1/4 tank......UHGGGGG :(

No more than usual city driving.....stop lights/ect. No more than 2-3 minutes of idling before I leave work to cool it down the last 2 days.

I may just go fill it up to see if the gas gauge is being quirky. I know last week when I filled up it was pretty close to E and it only let me put in 16 gallons.

I know I lose a TON of power with the AC running so I feel like i have to give it alot more throttle to get up to speed. I dont know this for a fact, but I would assume that would suck the MPG's

Right there with you, with the A/C blasting, I get around 12mpg on my daily commute. Without, I get closer to 19.
I don't turn it on until I'm out of the neighborhood, then it's almost all highway with a few stoplights.
I thought the same thing, most cars take a small hit from the A/C, the WK seems to be the worst I've owned, but maybe because the 'normal' MPG is so bad to begin with. Or maybe it's the dual climate?

after reading this thread the other day i wanted to see what i was getting so i reset the mpg's and mine only said i was getting like 17 highway with the ac blasted and like 13 city :/ sucks, but being sweaty and gross when i get somewhere is worse... (btw without i get about 20 hgwy and 16-17 city)
