Air Conditioning only works on Max setting!

A few weeks ago, out of the blue, my air conditioning just quite working on all settings besides the max blower setting! It hasn't been too bad to live with since its been in the upper 90s here in Auburn, AL but it gets annoying on longer trips. I have a '05 Jeep GC 3.7L loredo 4x4. Anyone have any idea what it might be??

Also another nice little suprise that popped up a few months ago is a clicking/exhaust leak sound coming from the jeep. I've searched a little a see that it might be the exhaust manifold bolts and gasket. But most of the posts about this problem come from the 4.7L and 5.7L V8s.

Any help with either of these problems would be very much appreciated!

Your AC problem is a bad blower motor resistor, I know, I had the same exact problem. JustforJeeps has them:

Can't help you with the exhaust though.

Is it very hard to replace? Did you do it yourself?

Mine was covered under warranty so had the Jeep dealer do the install.

its really easy, tip down your glove box all the way. You have to release the retainers to get it to drop down all the way, on the WK i cannot remember if you push in on the sides or stick your fingers up there and squish 2 rubber mounts to the side...

From there it should be right out in the open with a connector with larger gauge wires, two screws later and it will slide out. The WJ was really bad for this but I have seen it on others, make sure your connector will release from your old resistor, if it does make sure its not melted and deformed at all. Chrysler offers a "connector repair kit" with the connector body, wires with terminal ends, heat shrink (the good stuff), and special clamps (that you need a specific tool to clamp "properly" fyi).

I have the same issue with my climate control so thanks for the info.

I imagine by now you found out that you had an exhaust manifold leak and a few bolts were probably broken....very common as I've done both sides. $350-450 per side depending on the amount of broken bolts.

Go to rock auto..... The one they sent me for $8.53 was the same brand as the OEM, Valeo or something.

I've priced out both manifolds, gaskets, and all new bolts/studs for my Hemi and the price through jeepoemparts.com was under $180 shipped... You must be including labor?

Thanks averyone for the help. I "fixed" the exhaust leak issue. I just tightened up all the bolts on the exhaust (not the manifold bolts) and it went away. I still need to order the resistor but I'm glad to hear its easy!
