Window Rubbing Lift Gate?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey all,

I have a Laredo 4X4, V6 with just the All Weather Package, Silver Color. Anyone else notice that the lift gate window comes in contact with the tailgate and is starting to buff the paint? Just me? This is right below the center lift on the glass.

I attempted to attach a picture, I realize it is hard to see.

There is an issue with a small number of 2011 GC's where the liftgate glass is becoming unglued and rubbing against the liftgate itself.

There have been threads about movement of the rear glass. One of them is this one:

or here is a worse case: http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=23531

Some advice for preventive maintenance on Page 2 of the first thread above, but may be too late if yours is already rubbing on bodywork.

Sounds like warranty service is needed.

When was your Laredo built?

Thanks for the links to the known window issues. Upon further inspection the hinges seem tight. I'll have to have the dealer look at it when I get a chance to take it in.

On a positive note: I had my 6 month oil change and a loose trim piece that was making squeaking noises. Dealer treated me very nicely and did a good job on the trim piece. So looks like my local dealer is one of the good ones.

I just went to the dealer today about the rear liftgate window rattling and a small water leak from the rear view mirror, turns out that the rear liftgate and front windshield are cut to small and are the wrong size. The dealer told me that this has happend from the factory to a few cars and its the glass that was cut to the wrong size. They have ordered me a new windshield and rear lift gate glass. The cars is only a month old. I would also have the dealer check your windshield as well. Looks like if you have a problem with your rear liftgate most likely your windshield is cut to the wrong size as well.
