Have an '03 Overland Grand Cherokee (My 8th Jeep!). Has a 10 CD changer with cassette player as well. Never used the cassette player until y'day. Friend put in a cassette, it ejected and kept running. Tried reinserting tape, poking it with a pencil and restarting the car. Keeps running! Finally just yanked the fuse to shut off the clicking noise and prevent a dead battery. Jeep without tunes is just wrong!! Best Buy rep told me dried gears probably broke and it is trying to eject, just buy a new system. Would rather just stop the cassette from running and never try to use it again. Anyone out there have a suggestion????

Re: Help...
I'd say pop it out and take it apart! I think the trim around the deck is just clipped in with 4, 10mm screws holding it in place. Take off the harnesses and grounding strap and let the party begin!

Re: Help...
If you need a replacement stock radio, let me know. I have one I'm willing to part with out of my 04 Limited.

Re: Help...
Hey, welcome to JG.

That sucks about the radio, I'd try and take it apart to disconnect the tape motor(s) as se7endust1 said above, can't make it any worse if the only other option is replacing it...

Re: Help...
Thanks gang! Popped out radio, unplugged it and then replugged it. It automatically reset and is fixed. Five minute fix! Not gonna let anyone feed that beast any more cassettes, don't wanna wake it up again. Thanks again!
