2" lift installed... need tire size advice

Hey guys, just installed my 2" RC lift Saturday... wow im in love all over again with my Jeep! and now i am looking to buy new tires this week hopefully to fill up the wheel wells.

I was able to try out one of my friends stock JK wheels off his Jeep (255/75/17) i think? and i really liked the way they filled up the wheel well alot. But i have been reading about alot of people going with 265/70/17 tires.

I need some feedback on this... And yes i did do a search but really didn't see much answering my question about tire size comparisons. I did however take notes on peoples signatures and what they were running and with what lift.

So i am just a bit confused over why its almost a 50/50 split on these size tires? (255/75/17 vs 265/70/17)

The 255/75/17 BFG Mud-Terrains are the stock JK size and a lot of people pick them up + wheels for their WK's from JK guys ditching them for bigger meats. BFG-wise, they are made specifically for JK OEM. 265/70/17 is a more popular and available size from various manufacturers in an all-terrain type tread. That's just what I have observed.

i put the jk wheels on mine and i love it. it looks really good but if you have a hitch might have some problems putting spare under there it is a tight fit

running jk moabs with 255/75 ats. love the look and with the 1/4" spacers i have no rubbing and they fill the wheel well nicely

I have the 2" RC lift with the 1/4 strut leveler, and 1.5" wheel spacers. I put 265/70 17's on and yes it rubs the fender lining....but only rarely it only occurs at full lock and with front axle flexed ( hitting a bump, etc) I went with the 265's cuz I wanted the bigger tires. Not disappointed at all.

255/75/17 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM1!!!!!!!!

No spacers needed. Only rub at full lock. (careful not to let someone drive it that likes to yank the steering wheel all the way)

Keeping the wheels inside the wheel well is a nice look. Spacer suck. Lol.

ok boys tonight i picked up a set of General Grabber AT2's - 265/70/17. I have to say these completed the exact look ive pictured in my head all along. I couldn't be any happier with these. I just want any excuse now to drive my jeep haha. The only thing left on my list are the JK moabs.

heres a quick pic i took with the cell... lemme know what you guys think! :D

Damn I like that color. And the tires too. It's time to go black with everything now. Wheels, headlights, etc, etc, etc.

Hell....these are pretty cheap:

Yeah man, you need these now. I just don't see my wheels being anything other thank the stock color with PB8. Otherwise, I would have bought them a long time ago.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

Nice rubber dude.

thanks man. Im not a fan of the black wheels... silver is def my choice when i go and hunt down a set of Moabs. I saw a set of factory moabs last week on ebay for $300 shipped in mint condition. How can you beat that??

i appreciate your feedback! :D
