How the HECK this Laredo get vented seats?

3 Attachment(s)
So I was walking around a dealership's lot on Sunday (while they were closed), and came across this Laredo that has what appears to be vented leather seats.

And, going by the sticker, it's not even an Laredo X.

Anybody know what the deal is with this vehicle? How did a Laredo get leather perforated seats?

My first thought is somebody paid to have Limited seats put into it, and the new owner just hasn't taken possession of it. But the leather is the standard shade of gray that they put in the Laredo, not the black or light beige that the Limited gets. (I'm leaving out Overland since there is no piping.) Yes, they look slightly beige in the pics due to the sunlight, but trust me, they were straight gray.

The window sticker says cloth seats so that is very very weird. Mix up at the factory?

There are aftermarket upholsterers here in the Windy City that can do that. I originally wanted a Laredo (to avoid the Pano roof...long story) so went about contacting some upholsterers. For about $1800 I could have them do full leather with front vented/heated seats and rear heated-only. The folding rear seats preclude a rear vented system, FWIW.

The base Laredo has a folding passenger seat which I still would like to have had but I'm OK without it. That was another reason I hunted for aftermarket solutions to my particular wants.

EDIT: There is a leather kit offered by Jeep that dealers can get and have installed for those whom want an upgrade from cloth without going to an X, Ltd or Overland.

They're perforated, but no way are the ventilated; the HVAC control panel is the basic one without even buttons for the ventilated seats.

I cannot tell from these pics if the seats are truly ventilated, but you CAN add ventilation through a dealer via their affiliated aftermarket suppliers and include that in the sale/financing. The aftermarket upholsterers I looked at had placed control buttons on the side of the seats for heat/vent in front and on the rear base of the center console for rear seat heat. Some dealers here in Chicago occasionally have a customized example for sale on the floor that you cannot get via the Jeep site or normal ordering procedures; available custom doodads vary by the dealer and their specific job shop relationships.

Somethings not right with the VIN. That Jeep was built over a year ago and it has over 400 miles?

I may have an answer to this. Sometimes when a year's run comes to an end, certain parts may be sparse. In the case of Chrysler corp., then will place next years items in this years models towards the end of the run BECAUSE parts run out and they have a surplus of new parts in. If the parts don't differ too much, they place the new item in the older model. This has happened to me twice with Chrysler products.

That doesn't really make sense in this case. If the window sticker posted is really the one for that Jeep, it was built June 9,2010. That makes it one of the first 2011s built. I know the factory makes mistakes,I have seen a lot of cars with the wrong emblems, sill plates, center caps, mismatched door panels even saw a minivan with a VW horn pad. I never saw the wrong seats. I guess anything is possible, but I would guess that the dealer might have done a swap. It doesn't make sense that that VIN shows over 400 miles on an unsold car. That Jeep just had a birthday. Those don't sit on the lot for a year for no reason. They just don't sit that long at all.
