How is the stock System powered

i have the Basic non BA system I was just wondering how it is powered? does it have a crossover for the front and the dash speakers or does the stock head unit have a 6 speaker output?

Signal goes out to the amp via canbus and the amp takes over from there.

Though the HU.

The REF, RAK and RAQ have built in 66-watt amps to power the speakers.

Clicky to WKJeeps.com for more info...

Does anyone know what the non BA system sends to the tweeter, speakers in ohms?

Like are the tweeters sharing a 4ohm load? (which would make them 2 ohms per tweeter) considering switching out the speaker system and don't want to burn them up installing the wrong ones, haha.

The tweeters themselves determine the ohm load not the power source. For example and this is just a rule of thumb and not law but say if your power source is putting out 100watts at 1ohm then here is the breakdown.

if your tweeters use a 1ohm load = 100watts

2ohm load = 50watts

4ohm load = 25watts

DUH! :)

But if they are sending a single 2ohm load and sharing it, each tweeter gets a 1 ohm load. if you have a single 4 ohm load, etc... You put 2, 2 ohms tweeters on a single four ohm load. i dont need to know the RMS since they stock will NOT overpower any alpine/infiniti's i slap in here.

Just need to know what ohm load the tweeters are receiving.

Did you just read what I wrote DUH

The ohm load the tweeters are receiving is totally based on whatever tweeters you are using. I dont know what tweeters you are using so there is zero way for me to tell you what ohm load will be placed on the amp.

All 2005+ OEM speakers are 2 ohms, each:

3.5
6x9
& the sub(s)

whether they are BA, Kicker, or base model.
