Replacing Center Console Lights...HELP!!!

So, I installed an iSimple for my iphone. I unplugged the 4 wires going to the back of the center console where the thermostat lights are, the info lights, and the lights that illuminate the bottom row of pedal adjusters and such....now....when my lights are on in the inside of the car, the thermostat lights where the temperature gauges are are dim in the middle. On the right hand side of the left temperature gauge it fades and on the left hand side of the right gauge it fades as well...it looks like a light is dim / out smack dab in the middle. Also, on top of the row of lights where the information center button is, the STEP button is out but the others are lit up.

1. How do you remove the whole middle "wood" section to completely access the back end? Maybe I bent one of the rods and that is why the lights are off now.

2. Could it be that I blew a fuse by installing the iSimple iPhone AUX jack?

3. How do you replace the few bulbs (if that is what it is) that I blew / burnt out.

The fact that you have bulbs burnt out isnt anything new to these Jeeps.... LXHarness is a vendor, check him out. The bulbs are "Non-serviceable lights." Now, idk how hard you smashed the connections in, maybe you did bend a prong.

Try the search feature on the main page to try and find out how to remove the wood piece.

So I just pulled everything a part and there are no bent prongs. How do I get the lights back on? Do I have to replace both bars where the temperature and control settings are?

Striker1318,

I can repair all three of those components (upper/lower button bars & climate control) back to OEM specs and color in 24 hours from the time I receive them.

PM me if you're interested.

VERY reasonable and free shipping from me to you :)

The lighting around the driver's side temperature control knob are out. I decided to get the console replaced under my extended warranty even though it's not a big deal now.

I'd rather pay the $100 deductible and hopefully be good for another 80,000 miles instead of having more lights go out in 6 months and then having to pay $300 or whatever it is for the console.

^^^ thats the idea of paying the EXPERT diboblo to do the LEDs for you. its done correctly and will NOT burn out prematurely. he does this the correct way/

i think the HVAC LEDs are about very close to half YOUR DEDUCTIBLE on that extended..........

have diboblo do it, it will last longer and most likely cost you less money. i had bulbs burn out in the console twice since 2009 so it is definately worth it to go with leds.

I'm new to the forum so I can't PM yet. I tried to PM Diablo. I have an 07 Cherokee 3.7 and my heated seat light and traction control light are burnt out on my information center. I assume they are burnt out because all of the other lights are on. How much do you charge to replace the bulbs with LED's? If I were to send it to you, do you replace just the bulbs that are out or do you replace all bulbs?

Bob does awesome work, check out his sub forum in the vendors section. You will see the work he has done for a few members including robpp and myself. You can have him replace everything to factory colors or he can change the colors. I went with blue and love it! I suggest sending him everything and do a complete color change! Make your WK stand out!
