Overland Leather

I have an overland and am pretty sure that only a few panels on the seats are real leather. However, is an part of the dash or the door "leather" really leather? I am speaking of the regular Overland, not the Summit.

The reason that I want to know is so that I use the correct products for cleaning and protecting.

Thank you!

Reportedly the dash is real leather and also shrinks and pulls away when clobbered with very hot direct sunshine in places like Arizona. You might consider investing in a sunshade.

Actually, you might be surprised how much of the seats are leather. The dash and tops of the doors are also leather. I used Lexol leather conditioner on the seats, dash and doors and they look and feel great. Just be warned, the dash leather is really dry so it will take at least 2 coats and will look streaky for a couple days while it soaks in.

I like the blueMagic leather cleaner and the conditioner. its fine on plastics and vinyl too. has a great smell. I use it on my SRT seats and my wifes Lexus seats and they are gorgeous after 5 years for the SRT and 3.5 years with the Lexus

Exactly which BlueMagic leather cleaner and conditioners do you use. Went online to order some and... Well, if I'm going to follow your advice I might as well get the same stuff.

Thanks!

I'll have to check out Bluemagic. I've been using Lexol on leather seats for years but I'm always up for trying something new.

Has anybody confirmed that the "leather" on the dash and the doors really is leather? Are the door armrests real leather? To me, the armrests, the headrests, and most of the seats besides the vented part seem to be pleather. Am I wrong?

This stuff is supposed to be the bomb! Wonder if anyone's had any experience with it:

The dash IS real leather. I'm 99% certain that mjw is correct. A LOT of leather.

Although I didn't run spectral analysis ;) I did notice that when I conditioned the seats most of the panels absorbed the conditioner. The ones that didn't typically are vinyl. I don't recall which panels they were but the entire seating surface is leather as is the dash and the tops and armrests on the doors.

The middle console is leather too, at least per Jeep descriptions of the Overland.
