Exhaust Tip Help

With the new gloss black wheels and everythign else color matched, I want to get rid of the chrome exhaust tip I have and get one in gloss black. I amm looking for some imput from you guys on what you would go with. I currently have a 4" chrome tip. I would like it to look a little more low profile but black.

What do you recommend?? I do not want to go with the 5" tip as I think it will look out of place with just one and exposed cause I dont have the srt8 rear bumper. I was thinking about doing one stock srt8 tip but im not sure how that would look.

I really dont know what to do here. Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks!

sounds simple! haha. I was hoping to see pics if someone had already done this. I just dont know how a stock SRT tip would look on a non SRT bumper.

I can't tell you where because I don't remember where I saw them, but if you google search you might come up with something.

Somebody has them in black chrome and they look SWEET. If I had black wheels instead of polished, I'd have the black chrome tip instead of my stainless one.

Not sure how much of a PITA it will be to keep looking good though. I always go for stainless because I know I can always get it back with some elbow grease if the salt and road funk get to it. Maybe a stainless one powdercoated in black? At least you won't have to worry about it rusting then.

Re: Exhaust Tip Help

just paint your chrome tip with BBQ paint from Home Depot if you wanna do it on the cheap!

I was thinking about using a high heat brake or engine paint. I'm not the best when it comes to paint but what kind of prep is involved on something like that?

I wonder how hard it will be with the tip still installed. I'm afraid of any overspray or me F'ing something up.

Part of me wants to just cut the tip off and return back to a more stock look... idk if that would change the sound but I'm still considering it.

Does not having an exhaust tip change the sound of the exhaust all together??? Might be a stupid question but honestly I don't know if it would or not.

Like I said, I'm thinking of going back to the stock look with no tip

debatable....

mbrp (SP?) has some sick flat black tips for like $65 for a 5" tip. a 4" should be like $50 or less id guess. ebay has them all. weld on or clamp...or both.
