Project: "Revenge of The Fallen"

Many of you know that the engine in my old 5.9 is down right now, and needs to be rebuilt/repaired. I've decided that I'm simply going to move forward with my project, and build the old girl up instead of keeping this one stock and then modding the second one I intend to acquire in the future. Now all I need to do is save the $$$ to move forward with getting this rolling!

When last home I spent a large portion of time getting to know the gentleman who's going to do my build (Stan Mizell, Jacksonville, FL), and bouncing ideas off of him for the straight-line performance I seek, and came away very excited with the future prospect of my Niner resurrected far more powerful and stronger than before. In a nutshell, this is what it looks like on paper. Stan assures me this will easily develop the power I seek in the 425-450 bhp range, which I'm sure will be plenty enough for my wants and needs. Now I'm gonna either have to find a damn 6.7L tailgate emblem or, debadge my Jeep, which does not interest me in the least. Anyway, here's the basic (proposed) build sheet for now......

-Stroked from 360 CID to 408 CID.

-Balanced and blueprinted.

-Cam with a 226/234 or possibly even a 258/268 profile along with the stiffer springs and hardware, etc.

-Aluminum Heads.

-Complete forged rotating assembly.

-1.6 Roller rockers.

-Plate honing.

-Line honing.

-Hardened racing push rods.

-Coated Headers and full, "X" dual exhaust system.

-CAI.

-APS Precision Custom 46RE or Martin Saine Transmission and Stall Converter.

-SCT Tune after mods.

I'm sure I forgot to mention something here or there but man, oh man I cannot wait!

Maybe so Paul! At least I hope it is.... Have no idea what that kind of power feels like in a gas engine, though diesel is another story, since my rig pushes 475 hp/1,650 tq. But it also weighs close to 17,000 pounds just tractor weight alone!

Gladly Hannes! But dammit I'm Italian not Hispanic; it's Carlo!!! lol Can't wait to get everything done and take it to Gainesville! Maybe we can get all of or at least most of the Jacksonville crew together when that time comes bro?! Hmmmmmm......

Thanks Scott. Can't wait to add the time slip to our 1/4 mile times in the future. BTW, I wonder just how fast she'll be with my combination? Hell, Bubba is pushing 380 c/bhp and running a 13.4 so.......

Thanks Joe! Wonder how close I can come to that sweet-azz exhaust note you have with my set-up-to-be?

Thanks Matt! As soon as I get half of the total $$$ saved and paid Stan's coming to pick her up and make the transformation (pun fully intended lol) begin. The best thing about it is that because of my job there's no pressure on him to rush, though once he starts I'm confident my Niner, er, "Sevener" er, The Fallen will be ready and awaiting my return since I'll be out for around 6-7 weeks at a time these next couple of months or so until I get everything taken care of that I need.

Realistically I expect the engine build and install to be completed by mid-to-end Oct (depending on funds), and then I'll need to get my tranny shipped in and have that installed, tuned, etc. I'm a very patient man, and expect that November/December is good time frame to set for completion and road readiness. but as I keep bringing up, $$$ is the weak link right now, and I'm no different than the rest of y'all when it comes to financial obligations. It will all transpire and hopefully, will be a well-respected Jeep on the street and at the track for those in the know. Speaking of the track, I'm sitting here in East St. Louis at my company's terminal for the second straight day, which coincidentally is only roughly a mile from the St. Louis Gateway International Speedway and hearing those big V8's roar over there is giving me serious wood! :D
