Battery Drain - Dealership is Clueless
This is my second post with this issue. About a month and a half ago my wife and I went on a trip to Las Vegas for a few days. When we returned I approached out JGC to find the lift gate completely unlocked. I pulled on it and it just opened. The jeep was completely dead. After about an hour the parking lot attendant came buy and jumped the jeep and we were off. At first I thought it was the alarm from all the Jets that caused the battery to drain. After a month we realized this was not the case. Being that my wife is a teacher the Jeep was driven to and from school every day. As soon as school was out for the summer we realized we had an issue. If the car sits all day without being driven it goes completely dead. Every time the liftgate is completely open... just pull and it opens. I dropped it off at my local dealership two weeks ago. At first they replaced the liftgate module and a few other parts hoping it would fix the drain. Not so much. They called and the tech told me that they are clueless and are calling in a Chrysler tech. The answer from the tech is to replace all 20...thats right 20 interior wiring harnesses. I talked with my Jeep case manager and told them there was no way I was going to authorize that. No way they are taking my interior out to replace all those harneses. Sounds to me like someone is being lazy and just doesn't want to take the time to troubleshoot the issue. They know they are half way to the 30 day Lemon law. Is anyone else having this issue and what would you do? I told them to buy it back and take it to the factory to troubleshoot and figure out what wrong for the next guy. Still waiting on a supervisor to call me.

Re: Battery Drain - Dealership is Clueless
Have they done the simple tests like replacing the battery, checking the alternator and checking the high tension leads ?
I would be the same as you and never let them strip the wiring out of the car as it will never be the same as factory quality.
