Brake upgrade for 2008 WK

Any advice on aftermarket products to upgrade brakes on 2008 WK Grand Cherokee? I love the black Brembo calipers on the SRT8 but they are big bucks. Any other gloss black calipers that can be switched out for much less $$$?

none that we know of. Im sure you could go the custom route with brackets etc....BUT the SRt brembos are plug and play. Its not really that bad if you buy all the parts used. maybe $2000+ if you shop around and are patient. Teh toughest to find is the SRT knuckles.

Thanks. Got the Jeep for free and making some modifications, but trying to keep the cost down. Just tinted front windows to match rears, bought 20" KMC Rockstars in black, replaced original muffler with a Magnaflow, removed resonator and put on twin stainless tips. Waiting on the following parts to arrive: black RaceMesh grill and bumper insert, Eibach WK springs, SRT8 front and rear sway bars.

FYI, I bought the sway bars/bushings/rear brackets from justforjeeps.com and had some questions about whether I needed to buy the SRT8 links, and they told me to look at your posts for all the info I might need. I didn't end up buying the links. Thanks for being such a wealth of info for us novices!

You can get a Centric remanufactured caliper for $150 loaded with Possi Quite pads. These are the same exact calipers but they do not have the Brembo sticker on them and they actualy have better pistons (hollow) in them vs the factory ones (solid).

You will have to pay a core charge though and I'm not sure how much they will want for that. It will still be less than the 460 the dealer wants though.

Another note is that ALL SRT8 Brembo calipers are the same from 06-10 only the colors are different. So Ebay is a great place to search.

Here is the Centric ones.

Here is a pic of the factory ones with the solid pistons that flake.

So for all those out there, check your factory Brembo pistons! Front only rears don't seem to have this issue.

Hope this helps.
