Is a 4 year/75,000 mile aftermarket warranty worth it?

My wife has been driving a 2008 Liberty that is coming off the 3 year lease. With only 21,517 miles on the vehicle and a buyout of $12,300, I'm thinking of purchasing it. My wife only drives about 7,000 miles a year, so I'm wondering if it makes sense to purchase a 4 year aftermarket warranty for the next 30,000 miles. The service plan is $1,780.00.
Does anyone have any experiance in what I might encounter repair-wise in the next 30,000 miles or 4 years?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I think that it is worthless to spend any type of money on any other warranty other than the maxicare warranty for the lifetime IMO
