Demo 2011 JGCs

I went to the dealer last night to take a look at the new 2011 JGC Laredo X's and noticed they had a few Limiteds to be sold as Demo Vehicles for $2500+ off MSRP. I have never purchased a Demo before and was wondering if anyone had purchased one? I would imagine I would have more negotiating power for a demo. I need to find out from the dealer if my Affiliates Rewards Discount would also apply to that.

$2500 of of MSRP? Doesn't seem like much of a deal.

$2500 off of invoice would be a starting price for negotiating.

Yeah I know what you mean. If I had my way we would start at $2500 off my rewards price which is 1% under invoice.

It all depends on the deal. Picked up a demo (It was actually the owners car and not a test vehicle) back in febuary.

39k OTD (6% tax in MI included) - Included in price:
Overland 4x4 Hemi
Lifetime Maxcare Warranty $100 deductable
Jeep rubber weather mats
Tint all around except for windshield.

Also was able to negotiate the highest price for my trade-in out of 5 dealerships visited.

That's a pretty damn good deal. I would have done that deal in a heartbeat. How many miles were on it when you picked it up?

I personally would not touch a early build demo due to the fact that already has been a number changes and bulletins that have come out. Second off you can buy a new 2012 for 1000 dollars below invoice not msrp almost anywhere with out breaking a sweat. Finally most demos are hammered on by customers, sales people, lot attendants, mechanics, and just about anyone else who wants to "see what this baby will do."

I started to look at the 2012 GJCs. The new Winter Chill color is intriguing but I have not see a real picture of it. I am hoping it is a bright white as that is what I was hoping the stone white was.

It seems there is more risk for buying demo cars as with any used car. It could work out awesome and end up with a better model for less money or could end up with headaches.

When I bought my 2005 it was the "NEW" Grand Cherokee at the time, I bought a demo with 5000kms on it. Almost $10,000 below MSRP. Doesn't seem like to much of a discount at $2500.

^^^ Yep. I agree.

As others have posted $2500 of MSRP is a joke. Plus with being an early build almost not worth it at $10K off. Better to get $1,000 off INVOICE pricing on a new 2012 order, if it were me.

I wouldn't buy a demo IMO. But if I did, I wouldn't buy it for 2500 under MSRP...... they are shorting you by at least 5-8,000.

Depends on who was driving it, and what type of vehicle it is. When it comes to something like a GC, they're typically driven by Chrysler executives. Mine was driven by a 50+ year old man that worked in the office at the LX plant. I highly doubt he beat it. It's the lower value vehicles that the young salesmen are given to drive that I would worry about.
