CAI installed!

Got the bwoody cai for the hemi installed today and it was cake. But man! The sound of that thing is awesome! Highly recommend to anyone debating it. Also installed the beltroncs rx65 with blendmount and it fits perfect ...good quality piece, worth the price. On a sadder note....got them two in and the fed ex man pulls up, with my weathertech mats! Sweet! No not really, they sent the 2010 ones? Customer service said their computer spit that out even though i ordered them correctly. Their gonna expedite them so i should get the correct ones at the start of the week. Almost the perfect day. :(

I hope it works for you, mine is coming off. OEM box back on, too much heat soak with the metal tube. nice sound but performance is worse when it's hot, my wife's stock 5.7 has more performance than mine. Just an FYI it's not a CAI, it's a short ram. That's the problem.

What did you notice you lost?

when it gets hot outside it gets sluggish when pushing harder on the throttle. When it's cooler it runs better. I pushed it all the way down the other day while hot and it was like I was missing cylinders. The tube just soaks up way too much heat.

I guess once you get the stock box back on you'll be able to compare and see if it really was the heat in the short air ram or if its the heat and your jeep. Might be a larger problem then just the Bwoody? Never know

I'm sure it was due to heat. Those symptoms surely lead to hot intake. That's why some people wrap the tube.

Maybe you should try that install of uninstalling it.

I was thinkin of heat wrap after reading how hot the tubes get. Anyone done it or recommend a good wrap?

Yeah. I would definitely keep the Bwoody and wrap the tube if you're worried about the heat.

I had a Dubair on my 2007 SRT8 and it seemed a bit sluggish so I got some wrap from Summit Racing and it made a big difference. Then I installed the Bwoody and really did not see any difference from the Dubair with the wrap. The wrap does help.
