Tires

Just wondering what you guys think about the following tires:

255/60R17 or 275/55R17 (if you think they will fit on stock 7.5" wide rims)

Toyo Proxys ST II
General Altimax HP
General Grabber UHP
Hankook Ventus AS RH07
Bridgestone Dueler HL Alenza
Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Sym.
???

I want an all-season high performace or summer tire with good wet traction.

What would you recommend?

Re: Tires

I'm leaning towards the Proxes or the General Altimax...still debating if I should take a chance on the 275's.

Anyone?

At first, I was going to go with the SRT reps, but I don't want that much rolling mass, for I'm trying to keep it as light as possible, with a wider contact patch.

Pretty sure 275s wont fit on stock anything. And I've heard of some fitting 255's with some rubbing.

Use the search tool for "255"

Re: Tires

If you want the biggest you can get on there for a stock rim, you can go as big as a 255/70/17. I went with Firestone Destination A/T's for the tire and they have been a dream, not loud for road noise and work great on the trails.

I have a thread on here with before and after pics that I posted with the standard size versus the new tires.

Re: Tires

Well the only thing about having the larger tires is that my speedo is off when I am going faster speeds. When my speed says 60 I am really going 65. So since my speedo is off, the MPG's that are posted in the cluster are off by a little bit. But if I were to guess how much my MPG's suffer because of the new size I would say maybe only 1 MPG. Not too much at all considering that upsizing of the tires.

Re: Tires

if your tires are falling apart why wouldnt you go to a local General dealer and just get them replaced... General has a 60k warranty!
