Lamin X

Has anyone put the lamin-x films on their headlights or foglights of the 2011 grand cherokee?

I recently ordered a 2012 Grand cherokee and was thinking of using the clear laminx films to keep my headlights from getting all dull and pitted from road debris.
I have read alot of stories from people who said they used the laminx and it burned from the heat of the headlights.

Just don't know if they are worth it, or what i could use instead to protect the lights

Not on a 2011, but on my 2010. I used them with halogens, and the edges burned a little and got sorta crusty.

I don't know about Lamin-X, but I put clear InvisibleMask's 3M film on my headlights back in March. Lots of night driving since then and they look like new.

FYI they're a PITA to install and look sorta crappy once they're installed. Never as good as you think they'll look.

I had the yellow overlays on my fogs for about .2 seconds. They were a very pale yellow & looked like crap.

Wear latex gloves when installing them. Fingerprints on the sticky side will never go away.

i ordered the precut ones(yellow) for my jeep(09) for the fogs and it didnt fit perfectly. Best to get the sheets.

as for the gunsmoke lamin, they said it cut down 5% of light output but to me it looked a lot more.

I'm happy with the yellow Lamin-X fog covers on my WK2 OPverland. I was worried that they wouldn't be yellow enough, but the new PSX24W are not really bright, so the yellow comes through.

Install took 5 minutes, and I like that it is completely reversible.

they dont fit because your suppose to heat them up and stretch them to fit

I installed in my heated garage, but still, I found they stretched and stuck better when I turned the fog lights on. That helped to get all bubbles out and to lie flat.
