Grand Cherokee SatNav

Hi - 1st post as a new member - have problem with sat nav in my 2006 Grand Cherokee. Error message says to check DVD but it looks fine - no major scratches or marks. Tried a new disc but still same message. Tried a CD head cleaner but still got the problem. Anyone managed to resolve a similar problem?

I also had the same problem, started happening during a 10 hour drive during winter, the heat was on and when i ejected it was very very hot. The disc warped, so i pulled the backup disc out of the glove compartment which also felt hot to the touch and it done the same thing. After i got home i burnt a new Nav Disc and it has worked ever since.

The replacement disc I tried was from an internet trader as Chrysler UK want 250($375) for a genuine replacement.

I tried cleaning the original thoroughly but no joy.

Intersting point about the disc getting hot - this happend to mine too but burning a copy on a good quality dvd hasn't worked for me.

I am beginning to think the problem might be with the head reader or the chassis the disc lies in as you can hear the nav trying to read the disc but then aborts and displays the error message.

Thanks for your reply.

Same thing happened to me with the error message until I burned a successful disc using Verbatim 95310 8.5 GB 2.4x-6x Double Layer Recordable Disc DVD+R DL. Took a little trial and error and a lot of googleing to find out the best brand discs to use.

Same as above; my OE disc went bad and I downloaded the latest one for free with a dual layer Verbatim DVD. Now can program it while moving, which was a PITA on the OE.
