Best amp to run my component 6.5''?

I will be running a pair of Boston Acoustics SL60 6.5'' components and trying to figure out what amp is needed to power them..
The are 220 Watts Peak @ 4ohm independent so does that mean I need an amp at 200 watts max or can I push it over?

Here are the speakers specs.

  • component speaker system includes woofers, tweeters, and crossovers
  • 6-1/2" copolymer woofer with rubber surround
  • 1" KortecŪ dome tweeter with flush- and angle-mount options
  • external detachable crossover with bi-wire and bi-amp options
  • tweeter attenuation circuits (0, -2, -4 dB)
  • grilles included
  • power range: 2-80 watts RMS (220 watts peak power)
  • frequency response 45-22,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 90 dB
  • mounting rings included for 6-3/4" applications
  • top-mount depth: 2-7/16"
Thanks.

don't ever concern yourself with peak and max ratings. they mean nothing always look at the rms ratings. the power range is 2- 80 watts rms meaning they can be ran anywhere between HU power to a amp that pushes 80 watts rms.

Alpine MRPF-300

Runs 50watts X 4 so it wont overpower them

Well finally finished installing the components! I have to say.. my Rockford hit much harder than these BA's

One thing I did like about the BA's is the tweeter, it's so freaking loud! :) good thing I guess but the bass is weaker, maybe I do need a amp but for now I will just wait for my PAC to arrive so I can have the stock BA amp up and running again before I waste more unnecessary money.

This is what I did, not really a big deal but it came out clean.

And this is my rear hatch "sound bar" project

On speakers that run 80w rms. I'd get a 100x4 amp and just turn it down. A little over powered is better than under power.

I bet 100 internet dollars that if you were to open your xover for the components, youll find a jumper that lets you choose (well normally they do) +3, 0, or -3. Set the jumper to -3 and it will fix your really high tweeter issues. If you are not careful, you an cook tweeters by underpowering them and with the db booster up.

I did see that in there, I will be adjusting it this week when I get my PAC and hope my sound improves.
