Leaking

My jeep is leaking from the muffler, now I've done my research and found that this can occur, my only problem is that my research also informed me that along with water leaking from the muffler coolant can be leaking as well. So I began paying attention to the coolant level, turns out coolant must be leaking because the coolant level has dropped ridiculous amounts within the past few days. I've been looking to replace the exhaust system anyways with a magnaflow catback system. Should I do that sooner rather than later or am I just worrying for no reason?

If you're losing coolant out the exhaust, changing your exhaust system is not going to matter. Depending on the time of year and where you live, it's normal to have some water drip out the exhaust at times, but your exhaust isn't causing a coolant leak.

If you're loosing coolant out the exhaust, you have a bigger issue that most likely starts somewhere around the head.

...or you have a leak somewhere in the cooling system and it's running down the exhaust pipe. I'd worry about correcting the leak 1st. The exhaust is probably fine.

Re: Leaking

H2O is a product of combustion... water happens in the exhaust and there is drains in the muffler for that specific reason.

find your coolant leak first, as cracked heads are decently common on the 4.0l and it would blow to spend a bunch of money on a catback and not have money to replace the head... NOTE: im not saying your heads cracked, im simply pointing out that you should fix the problem before upgrades are bought as it could get spendy.
