Sunroof question

I have several questions about the sunroof in my '03 jeep grand cherokee laredo. There are four buttons to choose from, 1. asc 2. vent 3. close 4. open. Now my first question is that earlier today the asc button was a solid red which allowed the sunroof to stay in whichever position I had it when i shut the car off. Now the button is blinking and I don't know why. Also the automatic option no longer works, I have to hold the buttons in order for them to work. And finally the close button no longer works at all. Any ideas on the problem and/or possible fixes?

Do you have an aftermarket sunroof installed? On my Jeep there is only one button for all these functions and its not lit.

That sounds like an aftermarket sunroof. The one in my wife's 98 Lincoln continental has the same four button set up and it is definitely an aftermarket dealer installed unit.

There should be a sticker somewhere with the manufactures information printed on it. The one for the Lincoln is on the underside of the hood.

I have found that these sunroofs are supposed to be serviced and adjusted every so often.

My nearest sunroof service place is in Sacramento about 90 miles away. They say they can do the service in about 45 minutes and costs about $80 dollars, but I just cannot seem to get a chance to take it up there.

Meanwhile the sunroof leaks every time it goes though the carwash.

Re: Sunroof question

Oh yeah, one time the sunroof would not open at all and I found that I had kicked the wire off of the fuse panel under the dash where they had hooked it up for power.

You might check your wiring and make sure nothing has come off.
