Wrangler 17" and 18" wheels?

What's the verdict on the Wrangler 17" and 18" Rubicon and Sahara wheels?

Will they fit, and how much more do they stick out?
I have 17" rims currently.

yes they'll fit
if you had the HD brakes, then only the 18s would fit
they only stick out 5mm

Are these the same as the 2011 wrangler unlimited 18in alloys? I am looking to put those on my 4x4 Hemi Overland with HD brakes.

Is there any downside to using said wheels for a set of winter tires?

no downsides...

Does anyone have any pics of a WK2 with 17" Rubicon wheels?
Can they fit over the standard brakes or does one need spacers?
I know this has probably been asked a bunch... but... pics please.

@JayB - I believe that the 'Mopar Edition" WK2 is sporting the 17" Rubicon Wheels. I am considering going this route as well.https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

The 17 inch moab wheels (off Rubicons) look great on GCs and are pretty easy to find in near new condition. Once you lift a wrangler you have to run spacers on them to prevent rubbing at lock with larger tires (35 and up) so lots of people just ditch em. I did.

http://tapatalk.com/mu/62ed82d0-0bd6-b684.jpgI picked up a set of wrangler 18s brand new on crags list. Looks great. Like it so much I may sell my 20s

+1 for the Wrangler Sahara 18's. I feel they give the GC a more rugged look, make it look more like a Jeep and less like a crossover.

Re: Wrangler 17" and 18" wheels?

These look very good. I was thinking of doing the same on mine for my winter tires. Did the core fit or is there some play? Also, I am still debating between 17's or 18's for winter, I am going down from the summer's 20's. I saw a comment here about the need for 18's if you have the HD brakes, do you know how to determine if it is so equiped? I have the 70th Anniversary Edition.

Thanks,
