Broken Door Handle Lock (keyhole)

Does anybody know if I can just buy a replacement lock that gets set to my current key? How does that work?

I had probably used it 3 times in the 6 years I've owned my Jeep because I have keyless entry, I realize now that I should have used it more often to keep things from ceasing up... Meh, hindsights 20/20.

Since I have a viper 2way remote starter and alarm, I replaced my (expensive) stock button key with a "Rock" key on the cheap. But I'm scared if my viper remote dies when I'm out somewhere I'm going to be locked out, and i tend to leave my wallet in the wallet compartment, and my iPhone connected in the center console. Could be a shitty situation lol.

I know a lot of guys have swapped their Laredo door handles with Limited handles. Someone has to have an answer? Did the driver handle come with a new lock? Or are you supposed to reuse the stock one?

I would assume that you would reuse the same one right? Because the Key has it's own "Set Cut" out to fit into the Key Lock.

if you get a new door lock, you will need a new key that has also been programmed to the vehicle.

What about the ignition? It will be different than te lock?

you would have two keys, but both fobs would have the same programming so you dont set off the alarm everytime.

when I got new handles....I just swtched my lock over. But I would assume you can buy new locksets easily at any dealer.

I had the locks cease up on my old truck. I used to work with an ex lock smith he told me to just spay some wd40 in the lock with the straw and work the key around. It worked and I never had another problem.
