plastidipp'd rear reflectors

1 Attachment(s)
without the rear fogs (a project im not ready to take on right now).. i decided to black out the rear bumper reflector.. it looked a lil fugly in red. Plastidip to the rescue -- just took 4 coats, matches pretty well with the rest of the moulding.

Take off is easy, its simply clipped in - get under the bumper and push out the clips with a long flathead. next in line is the chrome strip.

Looks good man! How did it go with your front mirrors & grille?

If you plasti dip the rear tail piece will you remove it or plasti dip it while it is still on?

I will most likely body color paint my rear chrome piece. I have not figured out how to take it off yet. I should have checked it out when I removed the plastic from the tailgate to install my tinted tail lights.

mirror covers are at the shop getting painted body color. Im undecided on the grille. I like the matte black plastidipped look for now.

I think im going to do the rear chrome piece while its on the car.. shouldnt be too much of an issue i would think.

What's wrong with red tail lights?

They're just reflectors not actual lights, unless you get rear fogs. Pretty common mod on bmws anyway to either body color or black them out. Looks good on the wk2 as well

How easy is it to get under the rear bumper to get to those.... I've got a few ideas myself... (i.e. using the spare D2R xenon bulbs, ballasts, and wiring I have left over from my 300SRT-8, thought about converting to Phillips Ultinon bulbs, but never did) nice little mod (and surprise) for people who are tailgating you in the right lane when there is no other car on the road in the left lane....

A little too easy. Just need a long flathead to push the clips out from behind the bumper.

I'm glad you like it. It's a little weird to me.

I don't know how I asses this thread up, looks great man! I hate those reflectors they're big unnecessary and don't flow.
