stuck, broken and stranded

Hi guys..I know this is for WKS and I do own one...just she isn't with us and I Am desperate.... Took our 88 grand waggie out to bundy hill in Michigan took a nose dive from 6 inches of water to 3 ft. With no warning, fan flexed into the radiator....not going any where . Any one close by? Or offer any quality quick change/advice ? Stuck with no way home at a campground. Waiting for a new radiator...praying that's all that's wrong.

Lol on the song!

Nope no water sucked in. She cranks and starts. The wagoneer has a snorkel.

Here's what happened to the radiator.

Nice halo ring, did you say it punctered it? I like that mud, how did the rig handle it?

Re: stuck, broken and stranded

Yep, the radiator was punctured near the bottom of it. Almost no coolant remained in the radiator.

How did it handle the mud? It was fine when it was only 6" deep. Once it went to 3 feet not so much. We couldn't even find out if we could pull ourselves out once the lockers were engaged. The fan wedged itself into the radiator frame putting a huge load on the engine. It would stall out every time we put it in gear. You see, the fan is a flex fan, not electric or connected by a thermal clutch. We've learned that flex fans are not such a good idea when you plan to go into some water. Improvements are being planned. To be continued....

Little JB Weld on the leaking area and your good to go with so few fins damaged it should not affect the cooling.

JB Weld? I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking of that plumber's epoxy that comes in a stick. You cut off what you need then mush it all up. It hardens in 20 minutes. I was thinking that would be a quick fix.
