ESP Issue. Traction Control? Help?

Hey guys.

So this was the first time Ive driven my jeep on the highway since I bought the wheels, however, I have had it up to high speeds before and this issue has not happened.

Anyhoo, on the way to the lake, I was hauling a flat bed trailer, however, on the way home, I was driving without the trailer, just the jeep. I was pulling out onto the highway and as soon as I hit roughly 100km/hr the jeeps ESP function would kick in, I was not able to set cruise control, I was not able to drive past 100/km/hr as it kept bogging down on me. So I pulled over, I hit the ESP disable button on the dash, and I was smooth sailing from there, I was able to drive home without any issues. There is absolutely NO WOBBLE in the tires, and I can't hear anything wrong. Everything seems legit and is working properly. However, as soon as I turn the jeep off, then turn it on, go back to 100km/hr that ESP kicks in, I then have to disable it....and so on and so on...

Anyone experience this? Could it be related to the rims I have?

I know alot of people have told me NOT to run a staggered setup on the AWD 4wd system, however, several members have had no problems with their setups.

Jaybee3, scottina06, and others that are running 22" staggered, have you had a similiar problem?

Ive also bought a diablo predator, when it gets here, I will set the tire size, and all that jazz, so hopefully that may fix it?

I've not heard of this issue, and would be mighty suprised if the staggered causes it, especially when driving straight.

Although, as I alluded to when you first got them, I feel your front to rear rolling diameter difference is an issue.

Easiest way to check is to swap back to your stock wheels and drive it, see if you can replicate.

Cant be man....Then Socal would have issues also.

The 265/40/22 and 285/35/22 combo had a difference of ROUGHLY 1.99%
The 265/40/22 and 285/40/22 combo had a difference of ROUGHLY 2.49%

I forget the exact numbers, but they are roughly similiar and well below the 3-4% maximum in diameter differences, so i can't think that would be the issue at all.

Has to be something? Maybe my sensors are messed. Will running it in ESP disable screw shit up?

I hope when I get my diablo in, that the tire size calibration will help

this is why we recommended staying right at the correct diameter for the tires.....

a couple percentage points makes a difference with some Jeeps....

oh no scott. kyle KNOWS cause one other jeep with diff sizes and diff electonics doesnt have an issue.....

go change back to stock and test it beofre you are towed to the trans shop.

go ask frankie how many miles on his trans/

and what size tires are you running Scott?

Ive been told by the tire shop as well as a few friends that the speed sensors can be shot.

since mine are originals, they could possibly be an issue

Alright then, I will try that. Im gunna try the diablo predator tire size recalibration first.

Instead of DOUBTING what we say....prove us wrong with a simple wheel swap...........

That's just fawkin stupid bro.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but swap back to your original tires/wheels first.

Then you'll find out if the 22's are actually the issue or not, using the Diablo tire resizer won't save your transfer case.
