Grand Cherokee WK Fog Light HID Installation

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and hopefully stay on for good.

I've searched hi and lo for replacing stock fog lights with HID fog lights on a 2006 Grand Cherokee WK.

I've found for 2011 with complete guide. Unfortunately that doesn't apply.

I'm concerned about removing the front bumper to get easy access to the fog lights and the relay where I'm supposed to plug in the new kit.

Also, if anyone attempted a Bi-Xenon on Fog Lights (overland comes with a pre installed bi switch for the Fog Lights as well :D).

Much appreciated .

u lookin to just install bulbs or the whole fog light?

this is the whole foglight
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f140/...nstall-867728/

just bulbs from what i hear u need to run a relay due to the less wattage in the HIDs compared to halogens..

didnt go hids in the fogs tho, went with LEDs..much easier lol

you dont need to remove the bumper cover at all. it is a 30 min job to put hid bulbs into your fogs and run relays.

Thanks guys.

I don't need to change the whole Fog Light, just the bulbs to HID.

The 08HEMI gave me pretty good idea.

Thanks.

I installed an HID kit as fog lamps no problem. I installed the the power unit inside the front fender next to the battery and next to the air cleaner. Then just changed the bulbs from underneath the vehicle , didn't even have to jack it up. Now if I can only find out how to do the same for the headlights. da____ those DRL.

Finally got the HIDs in.

Ordered a full kit with Harness, Volt Relays, Ballasts and 55w 8000k Bulbs from DDM.

Fixed the relay and ballast behind the bumper over the lip with metal and plastic ties and covered it up with self made pvc box/cover.

Ran the harness to the battery, changed the bulb and Voila!

The cool thing is that DDM kit came with H10 plugs so just plug-n-play.

Only the wiring needed organization so ran it under the metal bridge where the hood latch is with ties and black PVC spiral for protection.

So far awesome :D

I was having a problem wirh my fog light harness, I attempted to just drop the harness, no go. My factory circuit wouldn't fire the ballasts.

Also if you are using the ddm relay harness please replace tge fuse with a non harbor freight fuse... It likes to melt instead of blow.

my fogs are factory style from ebay, within 15 min of having them in the front lens started to melt, im probably going to have to switch to a glass aftermarket fog...

keep an eye on the front lens.

I just ordered my H10's from DDM myself so my question is, are our original fog capable of handling those HID's???
