Various Warning/Indicator Lights On
I am wondering if anyone has come across an issue where the ABS and Electronic Stability Control lights come on and the EVIC has "Service 4WD" indicator on, ACC/FCW Unavailable, Service Backup Sensors ... and some other messages I cannot recall right now...

The problem is intermittent... it may happen right after all of the indicators turn off during initial start up, but it also happens while I am driving, just out of the blue.

I have mine in at dealer right now and their initial assessment is that one of the wheel sensors is the root cause... doesn't make sense to me since not all of the issues are related to wheels.

This is more frustrating than anything... vehicle is working just fine, but it ticks me that i am without my vehicle today just so they can 'learn' on my vehcile... they definitely are hit and miss... i thought they would just hiook it up to their machine and clear the codes, but apparently that is what got them to thinking it was the wheel sensor... i am skeptical.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Re: Various Warning/Indicator Lights On
Just a quick update... dealer now says it is the ABS module is faulty... interesting how the story continues to change... the vehicle has about 3k miles on it and the ABS module is faulty... strange... they say $850 installed as well, so seems like an expensive diagnositc route... they are still not sure this will correct lights issue, but have to do this first... with all of the computers on board, i can't believe something that is 'electronic' in nature as is these lights all coming on, that they cannot ferret out the issue easier!!!

Since these things are rolling computer networks, we (us and Chrysler) probably haven't even started figuring out which modules and sensor failures will cause problems in both the primary and other systems. Since I keep my vehicles an average of 10 years, it's going to be fun. Good luck and I hope they solve the problem.

Mine is in the shop right now getting the abs replaced. Same problems here. Two weeks now error messages at each startup.
I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Check my prior posts for pictures of the error messages.

Not really so strange. Electronic modules, especially solid state ones, are generally very reliable, but if they are going to fail it is usually very early in their life cycles.

Re: Various Warning/Indicator Lights On
I just purchased a new 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit. My FCW/ACC alarm would alarm every 15 seconds....I finally took it in to service to also fix a scratch on my rear entry door from the rear wiper coming loose and almost falling off. The alarms were very aggravating. My Jeep has been in the shop for 4 weeks and they are still waiting for some "alignment tool" that is on back order. They are to receive it by August 12 or 5 weeks later...then a day to repair it after the tool it looks like maybe up to 6 weeks in the shop. Thankfully they have provided me a loaner. It is disappointing not to have my new vehicle.

Yep mine too. ABS, traction control, parking sensor, FCW, ACC, Service 4WD, Service Air Suspension... all this warnings come on an startup. It is an intermittent problem, will be fine for a few hours, perhaps even days and then start again. My suspiscion was a dodgy sensor/module.

Re: Various Warning/Indicator Lights On
did the abs module fix things?

Re: Various Warning/Indicator Lights On
I had essentially the same problem on my brand new 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland, but only ABS & Svc 4WD lights. ABS would come on at startup and stay on, and SVC 4WD would come on intermittently. The dealer first replaced a rear wheel sensor, which did not work, and finally replaced the ABS module with success. The dealer said that indicator lights would not come on with the hood raised, and concluded it was normal engine heat causing problems with one of the modules. The dealer said that there is interaction between the various modules, so apparently the ABS module was also triggering the SVC 4WD light. From a trouble shooting standpoint, their diagnostic codes did not pinpoint the problem. The dealer ultimately had to call Jeep and they recommended replacing the ABS module. Everything was under warranty, and no more warning light issues.
