2005 WK Tire and Wheel Size Limits
Hi Guys,
So I have sifted through the many forums on wheels and tires and such but am still not crystallized on exactly how far I can go size wise, lots of posts on SRT8 Rep wheels, but I am not going down that road. The questions I would love answered are:

How big of tires can we stuff onto the rig without any rubbing (or very minimal trimming to clear)?

I am deciding between 20s and 22s, and am unclear on offsets, I definitely want the offset and added width of aftermarket wheels to give the GC a wider stance, but what kind of offset ranges (and with what tires sizes if necessary) work before rubbing?

Most likely looking for owners who have been down this road, put 20s or 22s with tires on the bigger side (WITH SUCCESS!) to share their sizes and offsets on their wheels.

This is for my 2005 GC Laredo, no lift or drop, stock suspension.

Thanks so much for any help, looking forward to being a part of this community.

My advice is to work with the tire calculator and stay within stock dimensions and you will be fine.....

how big are you looking to go? i have some pretty wide tires on my jeep but it is nothing too drastic.

Re: 2005 WK Tire and Wheel Size Limits
As big as possible without rubbing, I could stand a little rubbing (like 95% turning without rub)...

Scott- I have looked at tire calculators, I have 265/65-17s on there now I believe, with no rub so I can stay around there, maybe slightly bigger, but it doesn't help me figure out offsets unfortunately. I am going to order a larger wheel and want it to stick out wider than stock and I have no idea what that will do to my clearance capabilities.

Anybody know the stock offset on my 05 GC Laredo off the top of their head? I'd probably want another 1"-2" wider offset on my new rims... That might get me started, but again just having someone say "hey, I have this on mine and it works great" would be the best way to solve this.

Thanks guys!

i have 275/45/20 on the front and it looks real wide. in the rear i have 315/35/20 and they were rubbing on the back of the wheel well. i just used a heat gun on the plastic and it clears fine now.

On Jeep rims right? I believe those are 50.8mm offsets..

I am thinking I want to go with a 285/50-20, they are .8" wider and .7" taller than my 265/65-17s which do not rub, with a slightly smaller offset (35mm instead of the stock 51mm) Should give me a nice wide stance around 1.5" wider than stock...
