Hdd issue

Hello
I am new to the Jeep Family and having an issue with music transfer to the hard drive. I am using a thumb drive and the transfer seems to go good. But during play back on the HDD the song cuts off before the end of the song and immediately starts playing the next song. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help in advance :)

I have saved 224 songs from the thumb drive to the hard drive and all but 2 play full length before playing the next song. The 2 that don't play fully, quit about 15 seconds before the end of the song and then the next song starts. I have resaved these 2 songs 3 times and still have the same problem. I do not know what is causing the problem, but thought I would let you know what I have encountered on my 2011 Overland with 730N RHR radio.

Well it is good to hear someone has experienced this ...I want the 730N RHR to perform flawlessly maybe an update will take care of the few issues. Thanks

Sorry to be ignorant about this, but how did you transfer music to your thumb drive, and what was the format? I would like to use the Apple Itunes store and transfer songs to a thumb drive on my desk top, then use the thumb drive to transfer songs to my Hdd. I have a 730N Media Center. Will the Itunes music format be compatible with that required for the Hdd?

I have Windows 7 and the folder My Music contains the music in Media Player. I created a new Folder called Jeep HDD Music. Then I copied each Sub Folder from My Music folder to Jeep HDD Music folder that I wanted on the Jeep HDD. Then I deleted songs in each sub folder that I did not want on the Jeep HDD. I then copied the Jeep HDD Music folder to the thumb drive. The format is whatever is standard with Windows 7. Some of the songs came from cd's and some were MP3 songs downloaded from the Cloud Player on Amazon.com to Media Player. I do not know if the ITunes format will be compatible with the Jeep HDD. Hope this helps.

The HDD will play any iTunes compatible files that are NOT DRM-protected. mp3, m4a are both OK. But not m4p.

I just dragged and dropped the music to a thumb drive. i did have to reformat a few of the songs but I have a 21 yr old daughter that is a mac whiz so she handled the format issue for me..it is a good thing I bought the jeep in the summer so she was here to help and not at NMU.

Thanks for all the comments. Downloading MP3 format songs from Amazon did the trick. I downloaded the music to "My Music" in Windows 7. Then I transferred music to a Thumb drive and also burned a CD RW. I was able to download from the thumb drive to the HDD in the 730N. The first time I tried playing the CD in the 730N I got the message that "It could not find the files." But on the second try, it was able to read the CD and play the songs. So, as others have mentioned, seems you cannot download from Itunes to a Thumb drive and then download from Thumb Drive to HDD on the 730N unless you remove the DRM and/or change the format to MP4 to MP3.
