Did Some Jeep Lumberjacking Today...

We've been having storms and we noticed one of the trees across the lane had broke and was hung up in the trees around it. Sooo... we decided to help.

I threw the WK in low and crept up the bank so the strap would reach. Then I just let the weight of the Jeep rest on the strap. I put it into drive without my foot on the gas and just let it go.

My camera guy got a little scared, and I wish he would have stayed zoomed out... but oh well. It was fun.

Should have grabbed one of the taller trees and you could have been a electrician and lumberjack at the same time!

That was really dumb. Just saying lol, cool yes, but stupid to. You cant control how that tree fell, yes it was leaning away but anything could change that, branches, other trees, just super risky with power lines that close. As a fire fighter iv seen what those lines do when they come down on cars, houses, trees.... anything, and ill never go near one doing something like that, if that feel the right way and took that wire the right way you woulda been dead before you knew what happened. Cool video though lol our heavy jeeps get work done without any throttle!

No debating that!

I looked at my buddy and said, "Why are we doing this?" then "You we could take out the bottom and it could swing around toward us."

What the video doesnt show is me freaking out once it broke because I couldn't see where it was going... I punched the gas toward the house, lol. The video does show my buddy got a little nervous too.

We're known for doing half way stupid stuff... nothing too crazy though, just not ideal. ;)

Fun times though. Glad it worked out the way it did. If I didnt take it down, another storm would have.

Fun times.

Lol i wouldnt chance that again. Stay away from those lines if you can, they are scary as hell, so much juice going through those, just a bad thing to get near. And people think you gotta touch them to get toasted if they are down, but if your really unlucky and get close enough say bye. We had a car accident locally not long ago that took out the high test lines going into a transformer station. Idk if you know anything about the fuses but if you have ever seen a power pole with the steel pole coming down the side, thats a fused disconnect, you have to get the pole and twist it as fast as you can and it popes a fuse and disconnects the line to kill the power to that section, but if you dont do it fast enough that ark that comes off that is enough to make you shit your pants, it looked like lightening going from one pole to the other. Scared the shit outta us haha
