Wheel offsets and older rims
Hey guys, new to the forum here and want to say congrats on a great website. The best I have seen yet for Jeep stuff.

So I have been very seriously thinking of ordering the new SRT8 but my dilema is that living in northern Canada, I'll definately want to put on some full winter tires. Would prefer to keep them on a separate set of wheels, but what will fit? Anyone know the offset of the new wheels? Will the older style SRT8 wheels fit? This is my only real hesitation from pulling the trigger on one. That and I wonder what the interior noise is like with that exhaust and kids now so I need it to be quite when the wife drives and loud when I stomp on it.....

Any help is appreciated

Re: Wheel offsets and older rims
Hi Speedmerchant,

Yeah, you're gonna need a full winter set. I live in Canada too, Niagara Peninsula where there's not much snow, but lots of ice and slippery streets. I've been checking out the possibilities while waiting for the '13 SRT8 to come along with the 8 speed trans.

You can check out Tire Rack and Direct Tire online. Tire Rack doesn't show any gear yet, but suggest you call them for fitment. Direct Tire has V-Tec offroad and G-FX OR9 rims packaged with correct sized Yokohama tires for USD 1880.00 - shipping, customs and HST. Not sure if TPMS is included or extra, but either way the top priced set should come in under $2700.00 delivered and ready to mount. That's a pretty good deal for a 20" winter set.

Tire Rack's price for a similar set and size for a Porsche Cayenne 20" set is $3164.00, Plus S&H and HST.

Buy the DVD package, turn up the volume, and the kids won't be bugged by the exhaust note! If their mother doesn't like it, you can get her earmuffs...

Re: Wheel offsets and older rims
Ive been running the 4 season in the winter and I live In Yellowknife...6 months of snow...I had an 09 with scorpion winters on it and I have to sae the all season of the 12 is almost as good as the full winter tires i used to run...Just my $0.02 but I dont think its worth 2K to get a 10-15% better snow tire ;)

Oh and I think the offset is 50 on the 2012
